About Sapphire®
We specialize in offshore big-game fishing, with a primary focus on tuna charters launching from Hout Bay Harbour. Our target species include Yellowfin, Longfin (Albacore), Bigeye, and Bluefin tuna— with large Yellowfin being the most prominent.
During the off-season, we expand our operations along the Westcoast and beyond, from St Helena Bay, Yzerfontein through to Struisbaai, targeting species such as Yellowtail and Snoek.
In addition to fishing charters, we also offer birding and whale-watching trips for those looking to experience the ocean in a different way.
Our Charters
Offshore Tuna Fishing — Full Day
Launching from Hout Bay, experience the ultimate bucket-list adventure — battling big Yellowfin and other tuna species in the deep blue offshore waters of the Cape.
Inshore Yellowtail & Snoek Fishing — Half or Full Day
Operating mainly out of St Helena Bay and Yzerfontein — with occasional trips to Cape Point and Struisbaai — we target Yellowtail and Snoek shoals using primarily artificial lure techniques.
Birding, Whale Watching & Pleasure Trips
Relaxed ocean experiences focused on scenic cruising, birding, and whale watching. A calm, tailored day at sea for those wanting to enjoy the ocean without fishing.
